Language sets can be uploaded into the platform via the question builder or directly through the data library.

Uploading via the question builder

After creating your questions, you’ll be prompted to add language sets for the comparison.

  1. Click the cloud icon to upload a new data set

  2. Locate and select the relevant data source (Note: if you do not see your data source listed or have formatted a file yourself, use Smart Uploads)

  3. Drag and drop or select 'Browse Files' to attach your data file

  4. Rename the language set and/or adjust your cleaning options if desired

  5. Click ‘Add’

  6. Repeat for all sides of your comparison

Uploading via the data library

To upload data directly via the data library, simply navigate to the Data Library, select the relevant folder of the project you're working on and click ‘Upload’. Then you can follow the same steps outlined above.

Smart Uploads

When uploading data via the Data Library, you will see a data source titled 'Smart Upload'. Selecting this option allows you to upload any spreadsheet file that you want to analyse – the order or format of the columns does not matter as it does with other import options.

Before uploading a file using this functionality, please ensure:

  • The file is saved in .csv or .xlsx format

  • All populated columns in the file have been labelled with a header

  • If there is a large number of columns in the spreadsheet, remove any that are not relevant before uploading in order to ensure an efficient upload

  1. Click into the relevant project folder or create a new one by clicking 'New folder'

  2. Click 'Upload' in the top right corner of your screen

  3. Select 'Smart Upload'

  4. Drag and drop or select 'Browse Files' to attach your data file

  5. Rename the language set and/or adjust your cleaning options if desired

  6. The platform will generate suggestions of the columns containing text to be analysed and those that should be classified as metadata

  7. Verify columns have been correctly classified as text or metadata, and drag and drop column headings to reclassify or move irrelevant pieces of data to the bin

  8. Click 'Submit' to complete the upload, then your language set is ready for use in comparisons
