You can upload your data into Relative Insight in just four simple steps.

Uploading via Dashboard

  1. Navigate to Dashboard and drag and drop your file into the blue upload tile. Alternatively, click on 'Browse files' and select your data set.

  2. This will take you to the Smart Uploads screen, where you will see your text divided into three tables:

    1. Dates: Time period covered - great for longitudinal datasets.

    2. Text: Your open ends and qualitative data.

    3. Metadata: Additional data points associated with the pieces of text that make up your data set.

  3. Here, you have the option to include or exclude the columns in your data using the tabs at the top of the data set page. You can also choose to hide or show the excluded columns.

Please note: While Relative Insight always strives to correctly categorize the data in your input, you can click on the text or date icon, when hovering over the column to move it according to your preferences.

  4. Click 'Submit' to continue.

  5. On the next screen, you can choose your cleaning options or change the language of the dataset. You will then be taken to the Data Discovery page.

Adding data to an existing project

  1. To add more data sets to an existing project, navigate to Customer Dashboard and open up your project.

  2. You will be taken to your data tab. Using the side panel, drag and drop your data or click 'Browse files' on the upload tile.

  3. Then follow the steps above to include or exclude the relevant columns in your data, select your language and data cleaning options, and click 'Submit.'

  4. You will now be able to use the uploaded dataset to create comparisons.

How should my data be formatted?

When uploading data to Relative Insight, our Smart Upload feature automatically selects the correct source-specific and generic upload formats, so you don't need to worry about picking the correct data source.
